Yours Free~ 3 Steps to Get What You Want in Life ~ Grab It Now

Keeping the peace.

I was doing my morning workout the other day, and the trainer I was streaming on the iPad belted out as if she could hear my huffing and puffing, “You can hit pause, but don’t quit”.

This got me thinking about how we could apply this to our daily lives. I believe that we are all basically, in some form or another, on a quest for peace in our lives: peace in our relationships, peace in our workspace, and peace in our own brains.

So what if you direct your brain to “not quit” on maintaining or creating your peace.

Let me share an example: I have just given an amazing lesson on the writing process, my students have already completed their graphic organizer, and are on their merry way to writing a splendid essay on something they have learned. Two minutes later a student raises their hand to ask……….how many paragraphs am I writing? I have an option here. I can allow myelf to feel frustrated and annoyed or……………………

Reminder to your brain: Pause…………..I’m not quitting on my peace!

How about another:Hubby comes home with a brand new 70inch TV, and says that he couldn’t pass up the amazing deal he got at Sams. However, the two of you have already set this month’s budget and a TV was not in the budget. Again, I have an option. I get be angry and disappointed or………………….

Reminder to your brain: Pause…………..I’m not quitting on my peace!

When you decide ahead of time, that you are not going to quit on the peace you so desparatly want for yourself, you decide with unshakable certainty that when something unexpected or unwanted happens, you have the power to pause……..gather your thoughts, take a deep cleansing breath………….and determine how you want to respond that will serve your desire for peace with in your brain.

Decide ahead of time……….I’m not quitting on my peace!
